Data accessed and purpose

The utility reads locally selected backup sources and accesses its authorized Google Drive repository files and associated metadata, such as file identifiers, names, sizes, and timestamps. It uses this data to create backups, verify stored data, restore files, and manage backup retention.

The Google Drive permission requested is drive.file. It covers files and folders created by this app or explicitly authorized for it by the owner.

Storage and sharing

Restic encrypts backup contents on the owner's computer before rclone uploads them to Google Drive. Local configuration includes the authorization information needed to connect to Google Drive. The owner manages the credentials and encryption password needed for recovery.

Google stores the uploaded repository and processes service data under its own privacy policy. The utility does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising or general-purpose AI model training. It does not intentionally share backup contents with other users.

Retention, deletion, and access

The owner controls backup retention and deletion through the backup software and Google Drive. Removing a snapshot may require repository maintenance to remove data no longer needed by any retained snapshot. Local copies and Drive trash may remain until separately removed.

The owner can revoke this app's access through Google Account connections. Revoking access stops future authorized access; it does not automatically delete existing backups.

This website

This informational website has no backup upload form, Google sign-in form, or site-added analytics. The hosting provider may process technical connection data to deliver and protect the website. Email inquiries are processed through the operator's email provider.
